Read by Grade Three (RBG3) Testing, Communication, and Implementation
Public Act 7 of 2023 repeals the retention component of the state’s Read by Grade Three (RBG3) law (MCL 380.1280f) that goes into effect in March 2024. In the meantime, Michigan’s RBG3 law continues to require that the results of this school year’s Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress (M-STEP) be used to identify students who are eligible for retention.
